Why the crusher is over heating?

The possible causes:
1. Pump worn¡ªnot delivering enough oil.
2. Insufficient running clearances between main shaft and inner eccentric bushing.
3. Oil not draining properly.
4. Improper crusher liners for application.
5. Hot or unusually hard feed causes crushers to generate more heat.
6. Insufficient clearance for oil to flow between top of eccentric and underside of socket.
7. Insufficient oil supply.
8. V-belts tensioned too tight.
9. Improper oil installed in crusher.
10. No end float.
11. Crusher pulling too much power.
12. Crusher set too tight.
13. Insufficient clearance between top of outer eccentric bushing and underside of gear.
Corrections:
1. Check for proper oil flow (GPM) in drain line.
2. Check socket liner and ball of head for wear.Use the socket liner undercut as a guide, the head should be smooth without any noticeable step.
3. Check pitch in drain line from crushers to oil tank.(Minimum 1¡¯¡¯ per 12¡¯¡¯).Clean air breather on side of countershaft box.
4. Too much crushing in lower portion of crushing cavity causing excessive power draw.
5. Requires installation of oil cooler due to application.
6. Establish proper socket and eccentric clearance.Oil trapped between inner eccentric bushing and main shaft causing local ¡°hot¡± spot (1/4¡± to 1/8¡± clearance required).
7. Check relief valve for malfunctioning due to wear, chips or stuck spring, oil bypassing crusher.
8. Retension V-belts.
9. Change to proper oil.Extreme pressure oil recommended.
10. Reset end float.
11. Improper feed conditions often involved.Excessive amount of fines in feed.or crusher set too tight for application.
12. Do not set crusher setting below recommended. Minimum discharge setting.
13. Oil trapped between outer eccentric bushing and eccentric¡ªtop of bushing must be flush with top of main frame.
